Nesta sexta-feira (13), as padarias palestinas não terão mais pão ou alimentos para fornecer
Em um alerta feito nesta quinta-feira (12), a Organização das Nações Unidas (ONU) anunciou que alimentos e água na Faixa de Gaza estão rapidamente se esgotando. Conforme apurou o UOL, a organização indicou que “as vidas das pessoas estão em risco se um corredor humanitário não for estabelecido imediatamente”.
Nesta sexta-feira (13), as padarias palestinas não terão mais pão ou alimentos para fornecer aos moradores da região, sob ataque de Israel. Metade das padarias tem menos de uma semana de estoque de farinha de trigo, enquanto 70% das lojas relatam uma redução significativa nos estoques de alimentos.
Depois dos ataques do Hamas que mataram centenas de israelense no sábado, a decisão do governo Benjamin Netanyahu foi impor um cerco total contra o território de Gaza. A ONU denunciou ainda a atitude e alertou que tais métodos poderiam constituir um crime de guerra. O gesto também foi criticado pelo Comitê Internacional da Cruz Vermelha, conhecido por sua neutralidade.
“Estamos vendo uma falta de combustível, água e eletricidade”, disse Samer Abdeljaber, diretor regional do Programa Mundial de Alimentos, uma agência da ONU. Segundo a ONU, mais de 338 mil palestinos foram obrigados a deixar suas casas, muitas delas arrasadas pelos mísseis israelenses. Mas os abrigos montados pela ONU já estão lotados e não há mais espaço. Em apenas um dia, o êxodo aumentou em 30%.
Mais de 218 mil pessoas deslocadas estão abrigadas em escolas da UNRWA, a agência da ONU para os refugiados palestinos. Em Gaza, mais de 2.500 unidades habitacionais foram destruídas ou severamente danificadas e tornadas inabitáveis, enquanto outras quase 23 mil sofreram danos moderados ou leves.
De acordo com a ONU, as agências humanitárias continuam enfrentando grandes restrições no fornecimento de assistência humanitária.
