O Supremo Tribunal Federal (STF) interrompeu nesta sexta-feira (13) o julgamento virtual de um habeas corpus solicitado pela defesa do ex-jogador de futebol Robinho, atualmente preso em São Paulo. A suspensão ocorreu após o ministro Gilmar Mendes pedir vista do processo, e ainda não há previsão para a retomada do julgamento.
A defesa de Robinho busca reverter a decisão do Superior Tribunal de Justiça (STJ), que homologou a sentença da Justiça italiana e determinou a prisão imediata do ex-atleta. Ele foi condenado a nove anos de prisão na Itália por seu envolvimento no estupro de uma mulher, ocorrido em uma boate de Milão, em 2013.
O relator do caso, ministro Luiz Fux, votou a favor da manutenção da decisão do STJ, afirmando que “não houve irregularidades” no processo que levou à prisão de Robinho. Segundo Fux, o STJ agiu de acordo com a Constituição, as leis brasileiras e os acordos internacionais de cooperação.
Além de Fux, o ministro Edson Fachin também se posicionou pela continuidade da prisão do ex-jogador. Robinho está cumprindo pena no complexo penitenciário de Tremembé, no interior de São Paulo, conhecido como “penitenciária dos famosos”.
