O local para o velório foi viabilizado por amigas da atriz – como a figurinista Gogoia Sampaio e a diretora Denise Saraceni -, para que ela recebesse uma última homenagem de seu público.
Aracy estava internada na Clínica São Vicente, na Gávea, na Zona Sul do Rio de Janeiro. Ela fazia um tratamento contra um câncer de pulmão desde o fim do ano passado. A causa da morte não foi revelada.
