Um bebê de 11 meses morreu depois de ficar três horas dentro de um carro enquanto sua mãe participava de um culto religioso na Flórida, nos Estados Unidos.
A tragédia aconteceu no domingo (28), por volta das 13h do horário local, na cidade de Palm Bay, informou a ABC News. Os termômetros na cidade por volta do meio-dia de domingo estavam na casa dos 21º C. A temperatura dentro de um carro pode exceder 46º C quando a temperatura externa é de 21º C de acordo com a National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
Uma pessoa que passava pelo local percebeu que havia uma menina inconsciente dentro do veículo e fez uma denúncia. “Quando eles chegaram, descobriram que a criança havia sido deixada em um carro por aproximadamente três horas enquanto os pais iam ao serviço religioso”, disse o Departamento de Polícia em um comunicado.
A menina, cujo nome não foi revelado, foi transportada para um hospital local, onde mais tarde foi declarada morta, segundo a polícia na terça-feira (30).
A mãe da menina foi presa na quinta-feira (1º) e está sendo acusada de homicídio qualificado.
