O Sport Club Corinthians Paulista anunciou hoje (20) o desligamento do técnico Danilo Andrade e sua comissão técnica da equipe Sub-20. A decisão vem após a goleada por 6 a 0 sofrida para o Cruzeiro, na última terça-feira, que deixou o time em situação delicada no Campeonato Brasileiro da categoria.
Danilo, ídolo do clube como jogador, não resistiu aos resultados recentes que colocaram os “Filhos do Terrão” na 17ª colocação do Brasileirão Sub-20, com apenas oito pontos em nove jogos.
Apesar do momento difícil na competição nacional, Danilo teve um papel fundamental ao conquistar o título da Copa São Paulo de Futebol Júnior em 2024. Sob sua liderança, o Corinthians teve uma campanha impecável com sete vitórias e um empate, culminando na vitória sobre o Cruzeiro na final do torneio.
O ex-jogador também teve uma breve passagem como técnico interino do time principal em 2023, no Derby contra o Palmeiras, após a saída de Cuca. No comando do Sub-20 do Corinthians, Danilo acumulou um total de 114 jogos, com 69 vitórias, 20 empates e 25 derrotas, sendo a Copinha deste ano o seu único título na categoria.
O clube divulgou a seguinte nota oficial: “Na manhã desta quinta-feira (20), o Sport Club Corinthians Paulista comunica o desligamento do técnico Danilo Andrade e sua comissão técnica da equipe Sub-20. Deixam o clube o auxiliar Vinicius Marques, o preparador de goleiros Moisés Campos, e o preparador físico Renan Lima.”
