Dos 19 vereadores que atualmente compõem a Câmara Municipal de Ponta Grossa, 17 decidiram tentar a reeleição nas eleições de 2024. Os únicos parlamentares que não buscarão um novo mandato são Josi Kieras (PT) e Filipe Chociai (PSD).
Josi Kieras foi eleita em 2020 pelo Mandato Coletivo do PSOL, atuando com três co-vereadores: Ana Paula de Melo, Guilherme Mazer e João Luiz Stefaniak. Para as próximas eleições, Josi Kieras optou por apoiar a candidatura de Guilherme Mazer (PT), após a mudança de partido tanto dela quanto de Mazer, o que fez com que o mandato coletivo passasse para o PT.
Filipe Chociai, atual presidente da Câmara Municipal, foi eleito pela primeira vez em 2020 pelo PV. Para este pleito, decidiu não concorrer à reeleição e está apoiando Mateus Chociai (PSB).
Além dos 17 vereadores que buscam a reeleição, outros 11 ex-vereadores também tentam retornar à Câmara de Ponta Grossa. Segundo levantamento do Blog da Mareli Martins, o partido Podemos é o único que ainda não registrou seus candidatos à Câmara de Vereadores.
