A temporada de pinhão começa oficialmente nesta terça-feira (1º) no Paraná com a liberação, por parte do Instituto Água e Terra (IAT), da colheita, venda, transporte e armazenamento. Porém, de acordo com a legislação ambiental, apenas pinhões que tenham alcançado o completo processo de maturação poderão ser comercializados. A multa em caso de desobediência é de R$ 300 a cada 50 quilos apreendidos (ou fração equivalente), além da responsabilização por crime ambiental. O IAT é vinculado à Secretaria de Estado do Desenvolvimento Sustentável (Sedest).
As normas e instruções de comercialização do pinhão são estabelecidas na Portaria IAP nº 046/2015 e têm como objetivo conciliar a geração de renda e proteger a reprodução da araucária, ameaçada de extinção. Quando o pinhão cai ao chão, é uma oportunidade para animais, como a cutia, ajudarem a semear o fruto em outros lugares, garantindo a reprodução da araucária.
“O objetivo é permitir a plena maturação das pinhas e proteger a reprodução da araucária, que é considerada uma espécie em extinção no Estado. Além disso, é preciso garantir a alimentação da fauna que vive nos remanescentes da floresta com araucária”, explicou o chefe da Divisão de Fiscalização Ambiental no IAT, Ivo Czelusniak Good.
As pinhas imaturas apresentam casca esbranquiçada e alto teor de umidade, o que favorece a presença de fungos, podendo o alimento se tornar até tóxico para o consumo humano. Se ingerido, pode prejudicar a saúde com problemas como a má digestão, náuseas e episódios de constipação intestinal. Também não é permitida a venda de pinhões trazidos de outros estados. A safra começa em abril e normalmente se estende até junho.
A fiscalização é feita pelos agentes do IAT e pelo Batalhão de Polícia Ambiental – Força Verde (BPAmb-FV). As denúncias podem ser encaminhadas à Ouvidoria do IAT, aos escritórios regionais, pelos telefones (41) 3213-3466 e (41) 3213-3873 ou 0800-643-0304 e, ainda, à Polícia Ambiental (41) 3299-1350.
ECONOMIA – A cadeia produtiva do pinhão gera incremento econômico na vida de milhares de famílias paranaenses. Movimentou R$ 22,4 milhões em 2023 (dado mais recente), de acordo com o Valor Bruto de Produção (VBP), levantamento do Departamento de Economia Rural (Deral) da Secretaria de Estado da Agricultura e do Abastecimento (Seab). As regiões Central, Sul, Sudoeste concentram o maior volume de produção de pinhão.
“Além do consumo humano, o pinhão serve como alimento para diversos animais terrestres e pássaros, ou seja, é fundamental para conservação da fauna”, afirmou o engenheiro agrônomo e gerente de Restauração Ambiental do IAT, Mauro Scharnik.
