Um confronto entre a Polícia Militar (PM) e bandidos deixou cinco mortos em Duque de Caxias, na Baixada Fluminense, durante a tarde de sexta-feira (2). A troca de tiros durou cerca de seis horas e ocorreu na comunidade Corte Oito. Entre os mortos estão dois policiais que estavam na troca de tiros e três suspeitos.
A situação causou pânico aos moradores, que na volta para casa, depois de um dia de trabalho tiveram o trajeto interrompido após criminosos atearem fogo em ônibus e fecharem uma importante via de acesso ao município.
Segundo a polícia, a troca de tiros teve início após os policiais militares começarem uma operação na comunidade. Eles foram atacados a tiros por traficantes. Ainda de acordo com a políciaconfronto durou cerca 6 horas.
Durante a ação, o sargento da PM Felipe Moura Cardoso Soresini, de 38 anos, foi atingido no ombro e no abdômen e o sargento PM Roberto Rino de Souza, 39 anos, foi baleado com tiro na cabeça. Os dois militares foram socorridos pelas equipes médicas, mas não resistiram aos ferimentos.
Outros três homens suspeitos morreram no confronto. Eles também teriam confrontado os policiais.
