A Universidade Estadual de Ponta Grossa (UEPG) está oferecendo uma oportunidade adicional para estudantes interessados em ingressar no curso de Medicina em 2024. Além das 40 vagas já disponíveis, a instituição anunciou a abertura de mais dez vagas para o curso. Essa medida já está em vigor para os alunos matriculados em fevereiro de 2024, que iniciarão suas atividades acadêmicas na próxima segunda-feira (19).
O reitor da UEPG, professor Miguel Sanches Neto, expressou sua satisfação com a ampliação das oportunidades na universidade, destacando o compromisso da instituição em oferecer mais vagas em diversos cursos de graduação. Ele enfatizou que esse aumento na oferta de vagas para o curso de Medicina visa atender à crescente demanda por profissionais médicos, tanto em Ponta Grossa quanto em todo o estado do Paraná.
As dez novas vagas foram distribuídas entre os processos seletivos de Vestibular e Processo Seletivo Seriado (PSS), com a seguinte divisão: sete vagas pelo Vestibular, sendo três reservadas para estudantes oriundos de escola pública e uma vaga para cada uma das seguintes cotas: pessoas com deficiência, pessoas negras de qualquer trajetória escolar, pessoas negras oriundas de escola pública e vaga universal; e três vagas pelo PSS.
Os alunos que estavam na lista de espera dos processos seletivos e enviaram a documentação de matrícula estão sendo convocados pelo sistema para preencherem essas novas vagas. A medida representa mais uma iniciativa da UEPG para promover o acesso à educação superior e contribuir para a formação de profissionais qualificados na área da saúde.
