Wesley dos Santos Koque, que recém havia completado 20 anos em abril, teria resistido à abordagem policial. Segundo a polícia, ele mostrou uma arma de fogo aos agentes. Para evitarem serem atingidos, policiais iniciaram um confronto armado, e Wesley foi atingido.
Equipes de socorro foram acionadas para a situação, mas o suspeito não resistiu aos ferimentos e morreu no local. Após a morte ser constatada, o Instituto Médico Legal (IML) foi acionado e recolheu o corpo e encaminhou a Ponta Grossa para exames.
Wesley atuava como ajudante de obras. Natural de Telêmaco Borba, seu corpo será sepultado na mesma cidade na manhã de domingo (14), Dia das Mães.
